Today I am 18 weeks pregnant. I am +6 lbs. Feeling fabulous, but definitely a little tired! Baby has been moving around like crazy today- honestly she reminds me she is in there about every 30 minutes!!! Hey mom- I’m here! Hello! haha πŸ™‚ I can’t believe someone is going to call me mom!!! Bananas!

The weeks have really started to fly by. Since my last post @ 15 weeks pregnant, we have been very busy! The dogs got some new holiday outfits from Target. We had to buy the L size for Bronx and Harlem (our bigger dogs- the black and brown pups) because the M was just a bit too tight. The L will have to be washed in hot water a few times to shrink down cuz they look super baggy but they are hilarious! Vienna (the white one) got the M size and it fit like a glove. So stinkin cute!!!

We had family (Chase’s mom) in town just before thanksgiving, and we also picked up a truckload of baby items from a very generous and sweet family I previously nanny’d for in Orange County. They gave us a brand new white wooden crib, white wooden changing table/dresser, pink and white rocking chair, a moses basket, 4 organized boxes of brand name baby girl clothing for newborn through 2T, maternity clothing, a box of baby blankets and linens, among many other things. SCORE! I would take a picture but the furniture is still in storage until next week or so when we will be ready to start setting up the nursery. I did bring all the clothing, boxes, and smaller items home and they are currently in her closet. I would have hung every last thing up but I have to go buy some more baby hangers! So I hung up about 6 or 7 outfits and the rest will have to wait! I just love looking at her closet and I am obsessed with pink!

Chase’s mom brought gifts when she came to visit (gifts were also from his sister.) The gifts were tucked neatly into two beautiful pink and green decorative boxes. The boxes were filled with adorable babygirl outfits, shoes, socks, handmade (by his sister) baby headbands, picture frames for her room, and other various accessories. Chase and I fell in love with all of it! They are so thoughtful! I really have been blessed with a great M.I.L. and S.I.L πŸ™‚

Chase and I picked out a few things at Macy’s too a few weeks ago- we couldn’t help ourselves- all of these little outfits were like 30-40% off! (Most of them are Carter’s)

I almost forgot to mention that I was out of a computer for about two weeks. Our three dogs were rough housing and knocked my macbook off of the arm of the couch (probably not a smart place for me to have left my computer unattended even if it was for like 5 minutes.) When it hit the floor it somehow shot the memory and when I restarted the computer it said the disk was unable to be repaired. So we had to take it in to Apple and have them wipe out the hard drive and then reinstall everything from scratch. To make matters worse I had never backed up any information on the computer. Oh well, lesson learned. I am just happy that it was able to be repaired for free under the warranty. My bf just bought me this computer in August- I really lucked out they could fix it. Especially because the last two laptops I had were ruined with a virus and a faulty power cord (HP sucks!!!!)

So I am happy to be back here blogging again on this beautiful Monday.

This morning we walked the dogs, and then I went down to the gym to work out while Chase got some work done at home for cyber Monday! He was busy!!

I did fifteen minutes of yoga and stretching, and then did some light weight lifting.

I bring my own 4 lb. weights to the gym and do lots of arm exercises – and to be honest I don’t know the names of all of them, but I do know that I did bicep curls and tricep kickbacks. When I do strength training I do three sets of fifteen for each exercise.

After I finished up arms I hopped onto the elliptical for 23 minutes and did the “random hill” course alternating between level 10 and level 13. (I do 23 minutes on the elliptical and then finish the other 22 minutes after more strength training, for a total of 45 minutes of cardio.)

So after the first half of cardio, I did a few more minutes of yoga, lunges, and squats and then completed my workout with the remaining cardio.

I have to share a secret with you, pregnancy has thrown me a little off the vegan diet. I haven’t been completely vegan since about 5 weeks pregnant. My body didn’t want veggies and honestly all I wanted was bread and meat! weird!! I’m enjoying veggies again, but progressively. So I just try to eat as healthy as I can, and after my pregnancy I will probably return to my pre-pregnancy diet. Well now that we got that out of the way, today I ate:

Breakfast: I had a Trader Joe’s Stoneground english muffin topped with Sunflower Seed Butter (really good- and nut free!) and Whole Foods 365 raspberry jelly. I also had 1/3 c. organic egg whites for some extra protein (to make egg whites with almost no mess and really fast just pour into a coffee cup sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, and nuke in microwave for one minute, take out to stir, and nuke again for 1 minute)

GYM

Post work-out snack: A raspberry banana smoothie. (1 c. unsweetened almond milk, + 1/4 c. purified water, 1 tbsp. chia seeds, 3/4 c. organic frozen raspberries, 1 1/2 frozen bananas, 2-3 cups of spinach, and a small squeeze of agave) and about 30 minutes later after it digested I snacked on some pistachios for some extra protein because we are out of protein powder right now.

Lunch: Trader Joe’s french Toast with pure organic maple syrup (yes more carbs!! yumm haha)

Snack: Pistachios and a Soy Sugarfree Mocha Latte from The Coffee Bean. (omg I love these! about 280 calories tho I think so definitely a treat!)

Dinner: Chase and I split a box of Whole Foods Organic Mac N Cheese (I used earth balance vegan butter and almond milk to make the dish) YAY MORE CARBS!!! hahaha I usually don’t eat this many carbs- def not the norm – I would usually eat a salad for dinner or some soup but we really need to go grocery shopping! I also drank tons of water all day long- I can’t ever get enough!

And most likely I will eat a small bowl of Honey Nut Cheerio’s with almond milk before bed. Puts me to sleep and if I don’t eat some carbs before bed I can not sleep til like 3 in the morning. Today was carbolicious!!!! πŸ˜€

SALADS AND SOUP AND DEFINITELY MORE FRUIT TOMORROW! I ate like a fat kid today. tsk tsk… but it was ok bc I definitely do not eat like this everyday.

Now I am sitting in a puddle of puppies on the couch, looking for some inspiration for banana muffins. I have a bunch of bananas that need to be used up and a huge itch to bake something. So you will see what I come up with when I post the recipe tomorrow πŸ˜€ Goodnight! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and enjoying the holiday season so far! xo

What size weights do you use for your reps in the gym?

Do you have pet clothing if you have pets? we love to dress our girls when we go outside for walks when the weather is cooler.

Are you an Apple or PC person? I used to be all about PC’s but once I got an iPhone i decided to give more apple products a try and fell in love!

Do you prefer tasty treats like banana bread in the muffin form or bread form? I like to have the serving size pre made so I don’t just keep cutting off more slivers of bread from the loaf! hahaha πŸ˜‰
